You can't talk about Juneteenth without celebrating Mrs. Opal Lee. The Lily featured a (must read!) interview with Mrs. Lee, which focused on why she's been working for years to make Juneteenth a holiday. As today is Juneteenth, she is our That Girl Friday feature!

That Girl Friday celebrates people who inspire and encourage us to work together for a world of good. The title comes from one of my favorite shows, "That Girl," with Marlo Thomas. So, Girl Friday's first That Girl feature had to be the original!
