Sara Sidner
Sara Sidner has been a journalist for 25 years, covering some of the most important issues of this generation. From the front lines, she has reported on historic conflicts, female infanticide, political upheaval, and terrorism (just to name a few!). That Girl Friday is a courageous correspondent!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Remember her live reports from Libya as Tripoli fell? For those brave broadcasts, she won an Achievement of the Year Award from SKY WFTV Women in Film & Television in the U.K. That's just one of her many international awards and honors! After being posted to Jerusalem, Abu Dhabi, and New Delhi, Sidner moved to Los Angeles in 2014. She led CNN's coverage of protests in Ferguson, Missouri, which erupted when a grand jury did not indict Darren Wilson for the killing of teenager Mike Brown. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As viewers, we see how deeply Sidner cares about each and every story. During her pandemic coverage in January, she cried while talking about her latest interviews and COVID-19 statistics. She said, "To see the way that these families have to live after this and the heartache that goes so far and so wide, it's really hard to take." If you watch CNN this week, you will see her reports on the Derek Chauvin trial and the Minneapolis community's reactions to this week's police shooting of Daunte Wright. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
