Congratulations to Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris! The Biden Harris 2020 win marks a historic day in the United States and I feel as hopeful as I did in 2008 when I was a student Howard University cheering for (then) President-Elect Barack Obama. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

During a lecture at Spelman College, Kamala Harris said, "My mother would look at me and she’d say, 'Kamala, you may be the first to do many things, but make sure you are not the last. That’s why breaking those barriers is worth it. As much as anything else, it is also to create that path for those who will come after us." She's been following that guidance from her mother for her entire career, breaking barriers at the local, state, and federal levels while fighting for progress and reforms. #MVPHarris is the first, but she won't be the last. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
